Accessories – Vacuum Cleaner Filters

Vacuum cleaner filters trap dust particles and smaller particles from the air going out of the vacuum cleaner, creating a better level of hygiene and air quality around the home. Filters can eliminate a wide range of particles, including dust mites and bacteria, and are especially useful for reducing allergens.

While good all round filtration is delivered by the standard filters on lower priced vacuum cleaners, they are not always the best choice for allergy sufferers. However, a basic vacuum cleaner with more than one level of standard filtration, or a micro filter provides great all round filtration.

The best filters are HEPA (High Efficiency Particle Air) filters and S-Class filters. HEPA and S-Class filters greatly reduce the amount of microscopic particles and allergens left in the household air - as much as 100% of allergens, and 99.7% of particles down to 1 micron. Vacuum cleaners with this type of filter are often awarded the British Allergy Foundation Seal of Approval.

All types of filters can be either replaceable or lifetime filters. Lifetime filters are more expensive, but can work out less expensive in the long run.
