Brands of Vacuum Cleaner – iRobot

iRobot creates robotic machines for all kinds of uses, including domestic robotic vacuum cleaners, making common and time-consuming tasks simple and convenient.

Colin Angle, Dr Rodney Brooks and Helen Greiner established iRobot in 1990. The award-winning American business also designs robots for military use, which means that human lives can be kept safe whilst machines do some of the dangerous work. The company’s robots have been used to scan the wreckage of the Twin Towers and, in 2002, scanned the ancient Egyptian pyramids.

The company launched the sought-after Roomba Vacuuming Robot in 2002 and continued to improve the design over the next few years. 2005 saw the debut of a world first, the Scooba, a robotic cleaner that washes floors. iRobot has been extremely successful and now has over 300 staff.
